Access Montana Tech's Online Resources

Follow the instructions in the section below to retrieve your campus username and password, sign in to your email, set up Multi-Factor Authentication, and visit MyMTech, your main portal for online services. 

Pay/Finalize your Tuition and Fees

Notifications will be sent to your Montana Tech email account when your bill is ready for review in OrediggerWeb. Bills must be paid/finalized prior to the first day of class. This is crucial step to enrolling at Montana Tech and must be completed whether you have financial aid and scholarships, or if you will be paying for school with your own funds.

Request Your DiggerCard

Your DiggerCard is your official Montana Tech ID. Submit a photo at mtech.edu/diggercard to have your ID ready at Orientation check-in.

Attend Orientation

Orientation is an exciting part of transitioning to college life and an important part of becoming a Montana Tech Oredigger. During Orientation you'll get familiar with the academic, cultural, and social opportunities on campus and within the Butte community. Orientation will be held the week prior to classes starting and is mandatory for all new students to attend. Details will be sent prior to the start of the semester. 

Complete Admission File

Monitor your checklist closely here on your PURL and submit any missing items to the Admissions Office as soon as you are able. A complete admission file is required before classes begin.

Montana Tech Online Resources

As an Oredigger, you now have access to Montana Tech's online resources. The following instructions will guide you through some of the basic features.

Retrieve Your Campus Username and Password

Upon admission to Montana Tech, each student is assigned a username and password. These will be used to access online resources that require user authentication. Additionally, your username and password will provide access to any on-campus computer.

To retrieve your credentials, including your username and password, go to https://www.mtech.edu/pw.

Montana Tech Email

Your Montana Tech email account is the official source of communication for the school. It is important that you check it often. Once you retrieve your username and password, access your Montana Tech email account from the Montana Tech homepage https://www.mtech.edu by selecting Email from the upper right menu or go to https://outlook.com/mtech.edu.

When you try to sign in to your email for the first time, you will be prompted to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. You must set up Multi-Factor Authentication. Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone or set up a phone number for authentication. For detailed instructions visit https://tinyurl.com/mtzxekbc. If you need a password reset but didn’t set up Multi-Factor Authentication, contact the IT Help Desk at (406) 496-4244 or submit a ticket at https://tinyurl.com/pab4y9ez. Please note: The IT Help Desk requires a photo I.D. be presented prior to resetting your password or multi-factor authentication.

MyMTech

MyMTech is the main portal for all online services. From here you can view your registration, link to OrediggerWeb and view your student and financial aid information, and more. Many other important links are located on your MyMTech page. Access MyMTech from the Montana Tech homepage https://www.mtech.edu by selecting MyMTech from the upper right menu or go directly to https://www.my.mtech.edu.
