Orediggers dig in and win.

A college football team in black uniforms, some holding American and team flags, runs energetically onto the field from a tunnel area. A smiling Montana Tech mascot wearing a green shirt and hard hat poses in front of a packed stadium crowd during a game day event. A women's volleyball team in black uniforms cheers and celebrates together at the net after a successful play or match.

It took strong will, creativity, and enduring spirit to build 10,000 miles of tunnels through bedrock during Butte’s underground mining past, and those qualities are reflected in today’s Oredigger student-athletes. Orediggers demonstrate integrity, leadership, and sportsmanship and are formidable competitors both on and off the playing field.
